How do I create an account?

Customers who did not rent online or have never made a payment online may need to create an account. Within that account, you will be able to pay your bill, view transaction history, update personal information, manage autopay, and issue move-out notifications.

To create this account, you will need your unit number, phone number, & email address. To register, simply visit getboxedup.com. Navigate to "Pay My Bill" or "Account Management" and click "Claim my Unit" and create an account by following the prompts provided.

What is self storage and how does it work?

Renting a storage unit is a great solution to clear up some much-needed space at home or to hold much needed business items. All of our storage facilities offer clean, secure storage solutions at affordable prices.

Can I set up autopay?

Yes, you can set up Autopay through your Boxed Up Self-Storage Account.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

Larger and more infrequently used items should go in the back of the unit. Remember to keep a walkway in the center of your unit to more easily access items. Always keep items labeled and a list of items stored, even a photo on the outside of each box will allow you to "see" what's inside.

I have multiple units; will all of these units show up in my account online?

Yes, if you have requested your units to be “linked” to one another under your account, you will see all of your units. However, if you have units at multiple facilities, you will need to log in separately under each location.

What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?

What is vehicle storage and how does it work?

Vehicle storage at Boxed Up Self Storage allows you to store cars, boats, and other vehicles in designated parking spaces or enclosed units. This storage is ideal for long-term parking or off-season storage, providing security and protection from weather elements.

What is the best way to pack a unit?

To best pack your storage unit, start by placing larger items at the back and fill upwards. Use sturdy boxes, label everything, and create an aisle for easy access. Wrap fragile items and keep them on top. It's helpful to keep a detailed inventory of what’s stored.

What are some helpful tips for moving into my unit?

When moving into your storage unit, plan your layout in advance, distribute weight evenly, and use shelving units if possible. Keep frequently used items at the front. Ensure all items are clean and dry to prevent mold and mildew.

What sizes of storage do you offer?

We offer a range of storage unit sizes from small 5x5 units to large 10x30 units, accommodating everything from a few boxes to large furniture and vehicles.

How long can I rent a storage unit?

You can rent a storage unit for as long as you need. We offer flexible month-to-month leases with no long-term commitment required.

Can I use self-storage for my business?

Absolutely! Our self-storage is perfect for businesses needing space for inventory, documents, or equipment. We cater to a variety of industries.

What documents are required to rent storage?

We require a government-issued photo identification card, such as a driver’s license, passport, or state ID.

Do I need my own lock?

Yes, tenants need to provide their own locks. We also offer high-quality locks for sale at our management offices for your convenience.

What is climate controlled?

Our climate-controlled units are heated and air conditioned, protecting sensitive items from extreme temperatures and humidity.

Do I need insurance for my stored property?

Yes, all tenants must have insurance coverage. We offer a Protection Plan to cover your items, with coverage starting at $2000.00.

What hours can I access my self-storage unit?

You can access your unit daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Extended hours are available at select locations.

Is a referral fee available if I refer someone who wants to rent a unit?

Yes, we offer a REFERRAL REWARDS program with no limits to the number of fees you can earn.

How should I store my items & what items are not allowed in storage units?

Store items in protective bags, elevate them off the floor, and ensure they're securely wrapped. Prohibited items include perishables, flammables, hazardous materials, or illegal substances.

How much notice do I need to give to move out?

We require notice of at least 10 days prior to moving out.

Do you offer contactless storage access?

Yes, our contactless storage rentals allow you to access your unit immediately after the online rental process.

When is rent due on the self-storage unit I am renting?

Rent is due at the first of each month.

What is the typical height of a storage unit?

The typical ceiling height of our units is about 9 to 9 feet, with options for taller or locker-sized units in various locations.

Do you have pest control?

Yes, we maintain a proactive pest control policy with regular inspections and treatments.

What type of security do you have?

Our facilities are secured with the lock on your unit, property inspections, lighting, surveillance camera, and automated gate systems with individual PIN code access.

What payment methods are acceptable?

Currently, we accept the following payment methods: ACH, money order, credit card & cash.

If I lose my key, can you help me get into my storage unit?

No, we do not have a copy or master key to any of our storage units. You would need to have your lock removed by a locksmith. If you need one, send us a message and we can recommend a local expert.

Can I change my unit size if I realize that I need more or less space?

Yes, you can transfer to a different unit size at any time, subject to availability. We will prorate you out of the current unit and apply any credit balance onto your new unit. You will be responsible for any additional amounts due at the time of the transfer.

What happens if I’m late with my payment?

If your payment is late, your access code will be restricted. Late fees will be charged on the 5th day past your due date. After the 5th day past your due date, any account that is past due will be denied access to their unit until such time as the balance is brought current. Late fee amounts are specified in your rental agreement. To avoid the possibility of late fees and being locked out at the gate and your unit, we recommend signing up for autopay.
